The Builtrite, 2/3 Tine, Bypass, Underwater Salvage Grapple is offered in three different sizes. They are specifically designed for marine salvage operations.
To perform and last in this harsh environment, all fasteners and pivot pins are made from anti-corrosive material, a marine duty paint is applied, special cylinder seals are used to work with biodegradable hydraulic fluid, etc. 100,000 KSI, yield strength steel is used in the grapple arms and AR 500 abrasion resistant steel is used for the tine tips, providing excellent strength and extreme wear resistance, maximizing durability and lowering downtime.
With its opposing, 2 into 3 tine, bypass jaws, this grapple is ideal for grabbing pipe and structural steel components, lying at the bottom of a body of water.
Key features include:
• High pressure, well protected cylinders with special seals and anti-corrosive cylinder rods.
• Marine paint
• Grapple arms constructed of high strength, abrasion resistant steel. Tine tips made from AR 500 plate for maximum wear resistance.
• Mechanical stops prevent cylinders from over-stroking.
• Heavy walled torque tubes run the entire width of the grapple frames, minimizing torsional (twisting) stresses.
• Oversized, hardened cylinder and pivot pins with anti-corrosion coating.
• Easily accessible, yet well protected grease zerks.
