Learn more about Builtrite™ Handlers and Attachments

Builtrite™ Handlers and Attachments (formerly Northshore Manufacturing) was founded in 1989 and is located in Two Harbors, Minnesota, U.S.A., along the North Shore of Lake Superior. The company manufactures custom, stationary electric material handlers (also known as stationary electric excavators), truck mounted material handlers (also known as knuckle boom loaders), and a wide variety of attachments for use in the solid waste industries (waste transfer, material recovery facilities (MRF), waste to energy plants, etc.), scrap recycling, foundation drilling, railroad maintenance, general construction and mining industries. Builtrite shifted its marketing focus shortly after it was founded from timber harvesting and logging to these new, growing markets. Builtrite products can be found all over North America and internationally.

Besides our own products, we are also a supplier of material handlers for several prominent mobile waste shredding, grinding and baling O.E.M.’s, along with designing and manufacturing its own line of equipment. Builtrite’s seasoned staff prides itself in producing products that exceed their customers’ expectations. Working with our distributors, consulting engineering firms, other original equipment manufacturers and end users directly, we do everything possible to make sure we get it right the first time, including using the best computer design software possible.

We take pride in not only our in-house designs but also the fact that the lion’s share of our manufacturing is done here at our factory in Two Harbors, Minnesota, U.S.A. The vast majority of our employees live in the Two Harbors and Duluth areas, providing a real impact to our local economy. In 2009, we expanded our plant, which increased our square footage to approximately 55,000 square feet. In this expansion, we added a state of the art paint booth, grapple fabrication facility, new assembly area including a hydraulic test stand, used to test all of our equipment and finally, more room to weld and machine our products. In April 2015, the company was sold to TJM Capital out of Chicago, IL, which specializes in industrial manufacturing firms.

We invite all current and prospective customers to visit our facility. Our normal business hours are from 7:00 – 5:00, Monday through Friday. Please call us in advance for an appointment. We would be happy to show you what we have to offer.
